Amy Gomes is a Critical Care Paramedic, author, and passionate advocate for empowering children and families with life-saving knowledge. With years of frontline experience responding to emergencies, Amy has seen firsthand how early education can make all the difference in those critical moments before help arrives. She is the author of What Paramedics Do—a beloved book that helps children understand the world of emergency care—and now continues her mission through this new collaboration, teaching even the youngest minds how to act with confidence and compassion in an emergency. When she’s not on duty or writing, Amy is a proud mum who believes that first aid is not just a skill, but a form of kindness every child can learn.

Sarah Duncanson is a Critical Care Paediatric Nurse, educator, and co-founder of PAEDS Education, dedicated to empowering families, educators, and communities with the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency. Drawing on years of experience caring for children in critical situations, Sarah brings both clinical expertise and deep compassion to her work. As a mum and passionate health educator, she believes that teaching children first aid isn’t about fear—it’s about building courage, confidence, and connection.
