Preparing children for medical interactions – Book recommendations

We talk a lot about the importance of preparation in helping children to cope with medical interactions such as trips to the doctor, dentist or more invasive procedures

such as immunizations or blood draws. Some of these things can happen very fast and we don’t always have the luxury of time to prepare, but if you do – check out some of our recommendations below for books that we love and use with our own children.

Some of these links take you to Booktopia which we have an affiliate agreement with, so if you purchase these books via these links, we will get a small commission. However, we also have links to books that are from other book sellers, so we do not discriminate when it comes to useful resources that we genuinely believe in!

We hope you find these useful, and they also make amazing baby shower gifts or birthday presents if you’re looking for some inspiration. If you come across any other books that we don’t have on our list, then please let us know so we can share the word.
